Album Review
An interesting collection of Muddy's earliest blues recordings. What separates this set from others available is that it combines recordings from his Library of Congress sessions, his early Aristocrat and Chess outings, and the rare 1946 Columbia sessions done under the name James "Sweet Lucy" Carter. The transfers are pretty noisy throughout, but overall this is prime Muddy at his earliest and best. ~ Cub Koda, All Music Guide
