Album Review
Covering nearly all of Elvis Costello's hits prior to 1985, this album picks songs off of My Aim Is True, Imperial Bedroom, Trust, This Year's Model, Armed Forces, Get Happy!!, and a couple others. For those that simply want a taste of Costello, this album is probably the best-fitted for any reasonable purpose. All of the necessary songs are included. If more is desired, the individual albums might be something worthwhile to look into. As is though, this album is much more straightforward and better-organized than many of the other compilations of Costello's work available. The only real detractor for this compilation is the lack of Costello's later works, many of which might certainly be worthwhile -- for this, perhaps Extreme Honey might be in order, covering the period after his Columbia years. ~ Adam Greenberg, All Music Guide
