Album Review

Polydor International's 1999 collection rounds up 14 blues tracks that Eric Clapton has cut over the years, starting with a whopping six selections from Cream, continuing with a pair from Derek & the Dominos, and then concluding with relative oddities pulled from his '70s solo albums. Although the selection seems just slightly haphazard, especially on the solo cuts, there are no bad choices here and overall this is a nice sampler of Slowhand's bluesier work. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
