Album Review
EMI's 1999 Singles Collection is another double-disc collection of basics running from 1969's "Space Oddity" to 1987's "Day-In Day-Out." Apart from Bowie's live version of "Knock on Wood," "Alabama Song" from Scary Monsters, and his duet with Mick Jagger on "Dancing in the Street," there are no surprises here -- it's just simply a good collection of hits that will be useful to anybody who doesn't have them yet and not so useful to those who already do. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
