Get Back Rock's 1999 release This Is the Savage Young Beatles is another repackaging of the Beatles early pre-fame recordings with Tony Sheridan but, befitting its budget-label origins, it runs only eight tracks. For most bands this might seem a bit like skimping, but it's not that bad in this case as the Beatles didn't have that many tracks with Sheridan, so this just hits the biggest and the best, suiting the needs of fans on a budget who want to dig a little deeper than what was presented on Anthology. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
