Album Review
DJ Icey has been a top breakbeat DJ for so long, it's a bit of a surprise that his own full-length reveals that he's got some great productions up his sleeve. Though Generate includes predictable nods to electro ("Ease the Beat Back Up") and big-beat ("Can't Stop This Track"), each are well done and lead to other interesting tracks, like the straight-ahead acid-techno of "Take the Time" and even beatless leanings on "The Air Is Full of Sound." It's not quite up to the quality of Chemical Brothers/ Prodigy territory, but Generate is a solid album. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
