Album Review
Vanguard's Best of Joan Baez is a solid, if brief, collection that features a handful of her best-known songs -- "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," "There But for Fortune, " "I Am a Poor Wayfaring Stranger, " "Joe Hill, " "Silver Dagger, " "Pack up Your Sorrows, " "We Shall Overcome" -- but it leaves just as many off the disc. It's not a definitive collection, but it is an enjoyable introduction to her career. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
