In the U.S., the best known Black Sabbath anthology of the '70s was 1976's We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'N' Roll. But that double LP wasn't the only "best of" collection by Sabbath that came out in the '70s; in 1977, Nems released Black Sabbath's Greatest Hits in the U.K. Spanning 1969-73, this single LP isn't the last word on Ozzy Osbourne-era Sabbath. But it does contain some of Sabbath's most essential gems, which range from "Paranoid," "Iron Man" and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath," to "Black Sabbath," "Tomorrow's Dream" and "Sweet Leaf." If you were searching for a single-LP sampler of Sabbath in the '70s, Greatest Hits wasn't a bad choice.
