Album Review
The European branch of RCA reissued two of Jefferson Airplane's best albums, Surrealistic Pillow and Volunteers, as a single CD in 1996. While the two albums don't necessarily sit well together -- the band changed a lot between those two records, as documented on the three albums released between Surrealistic Pillow and Volunteers -- it's not a bad way to pick up these records. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
