Review
For Hypermodern Jazz 2000.5, Empire varied the beats but rarely invoked the extreme tempo changes which characterized other material. The result is an interesting fusion of techno and jazz, often touching on electro, downtempo breakbeat and acid. "God Told Me How to Kiss" and "Unknown Stepdancer" are two highlights. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
