Album Review
The Delmores' recordings for King in the mid-'40s found them shifting away from traditional sounds into more energetic boogies that foreshadowed -- however faintly -- the blend of R&B and country that would give birth to rock & roll. This has 14 sides from 1944-49, some of which feature such stellar sidemen as guitarist Merle Travis, mandolinist Jethro Burns, and harmonica player Wayne Raney. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
