Album Review
The virtuosic trombonist Bill Watrous was caught live for this little-known Lp from the British Mole label. Assisted by pianist Brian Dee, bassist Len Skeat and drummer Martin Drew, Watrous stretches out on lengthy versions of "Straight No Chaser," "When Your Lover Has Gone," the ballad "Diane" and "Falling In Love With Love"; the latter at 9 1/2 minutes is the shortest performance. Watrous is in fine form and on the more rapid numbers ("Straight No Chaser" and "Falling In Love With Love") he sounds surprisingly relaxed, even when playing doubletime runs. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
