Album Review
This U.K. collection is stocked with 40 of country legend Willie Nelson's best songs from his highly prolific early years with Liberty Records. Nelson didn't hit it big in his own right until the '70s, but the songs he penned in the decade prior provided artists like Patsy Cline ("Crazy"), Faron Young ("Hello Walls"), Ray Price ("Night Life"), and Billy Walker ("Funny How Time Slips Away") with some of their biggest hits. This two-disc set features Nelson at his creative peak, planting the seeds of what would become a remarkably consistent and productive career. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
