CD Reviews

Not his best work

"I'm not someone who has disliked Young MC. In fact, I have always been a big fan, even in the post-Stone Cold Rhymin' years when everyone forgot who he was. So I'm not biased.Having said that, this is a pretty poor album. The lyrics and production are second-rate, generic, uncreative and repetitive. There's not much good that can be said about this album. For those looking to rediscover Young MC in his post-top 40 years, I would reccomend getting any of his other albums besides this one, particularly "What's The Flavor", which is a very good album."

"These reviewers are drooling fools who i'm sure have been to several Creed concerts and watch american idol every week. Young MC is intelligent, positive and full-on funkadelic and deserves better than this uninspired hackery.

His early work shaped me as a man, kept me out of trouble and saved me from tragic mistakes in my 13 year-old, impressionable world. Even though at the time i never thought about the messages as i rocked out to the albums "Stone Cold Rhymin'" and "Brainstorming" -the messages seeped into my subconscious mind, listening on my walkman while i read, on road trips, in my room, sometimes when i fell asleep.

songs like "know how" "keep your eyes on the prize" "inside my head" "think for a minute and use your head" "inside my head" "just say no" to name a few, helped provide a bass-bumpin' pathway for good decisions and successful thinking and i applaud him for it. i can't be the only kid that his message has helped, and this is my homage to his work...Thank You Young MC."
