Synopsis

Album Description
"With heavy influences in '70s pop, Young and Sexy would sit nicely in a collection of old Zombies and Mamas & Papas records." -- Fensepost "What all your favorite male/female pop duos would sound like if they added a few members and did more drugs." -- Music Missions "Any way you look at it ... an accomplished work." -- Pop Culture Press "An awestruck tone that is at once deliberate, casual, and appropriate." -- Static Multimedia "This album has a very summery, back porch, Pink Floyd-ish feel." -- Columbia Journal "It's a winter album with Beach Boys harmonies, and truly remarkable." -- Erasing Clouds "The difference between the new album and its predecessor like that between summer and autumn. The days get shorter, the shadows get longer, and there's more of a bite in the air." -- Pop Matters With the release of their fourth record, Young and Sexy find themselves entering their tenth year as a band. Their expansive arrangements and heavily melodic sound draws diverse comparisons to acts such as Pink Floyd, Fairport Convention, The Zombies, Led Zeppelin, and The Go Betweens. The Arc is full of classical, baroque pop, and prog rock influences. Songs move from one movement to another cradling lyrics that focus on medieval and pagan imagery with a touch of spiritualism. The band that released Stand Up For Your Mother (their Mint debut) has now moved into dark and mysterious passages. Recorded and produced at Vancouver's Hive Studios by Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Cave Singers, Ladyhawk, Swan Lake), The Arc fits securely into Young and Sexy's ever-changing musical canon.
