Yehudi Menuhin (1916 - 1999) was one of the most famous violin virtuosos of the 20th century. As a wunderkind at age 12, he performed with the Berliner Philharmoniker under Bruno Walter - and played the violin concertos by Bach, Beethoven and Brahms - in one night!!! With his Stradivari, Menuhin was THE violinist. These recordings go back to 1949 and 1951 and show him at the very height of his art. Great sound quality!
