"Are you a BOC fan? Are you tired of waiting for next studio non complation album (If there will ever be another). The X band is a solid fix. Half of it sounds like spectres and the rest sound like a BOC that never got to the vinyl. All you cult junkies there are now 2 BOC's for your listening pleasure. Buy it, it's worth it and 3 times the price."

More like Blue Oyster Cult than BOC is these days

"Having recently discovered the Brain Surgeons (Albert Bouchard's current band), I wondered what the other half of Blue Oyster Cult's original rhythm section was up to these days. This CD showed me, and also reminded me how tremendously important Joe Bouchard was to BOC's sound. If you're like me, and think that BOC have lost a good bit of their edge in their most recent release, you might want to check out "Solid Citizens." Tracks like "Hot Time in Hell" and "The Van Song" rock more convincingly than most of the stuff on BOC's Heaven Forbid, and "Dreamland" and "The Dream Machine" have a lot more of that eerie old BOC slither than the admittedly pretty good "Harvest Moon" from HF. While Joe's voice is a bit more of an acquired taste than Eric Bloom's or Buck Dharma's, longtime BOC fans will find it familiar enough, and good enough, to make this CD well worth their while. With the addition of a really good secondary vocalist, this CD would probably have gotten 5 stars from me."
