Synopsis

Album Description
2010 release, a collection of various Wu-Tang Clan songs and unreleased Wu-Tang remixes all produced by Mathematics. Born and raised in Jamaica, Queens, South Side, Mathematics began his career in 1987 by DJing block parties and throwing his own park jams in Baisley Projects. In 1990, Mathematics linked up with The Genius, AKA GZA. Soon after, RZA asked Math to design a logo for the up and coming crew (Math was a graffiti artist as well), and his resulting design is now instantly recognized worldwide. Return Of The Wu features vocals from the entire Clan including Ghostface, Raekwon, RZA, GZA, ODB, Method Man, Masta Killa, Inspectah Deck and U-God. Six unreleased exclusive remixes by DJ Mathematics are featured on the album.

CD Reviews

Best of Mathematics
C. Gray | Brooklyn, New York | 02/19/2010
(4 out of 5 stars)

"With exception for two songs, all tracks on this album were previously released on Math's albums, namely "Love, Hell, or Right" and "The Problem." A few other tracks are pulled from Wu-Tang solo albums. So, although this album is presented as "Return of the Wu-Tang", it's more like "Return of Mathematics." Nonetheless, Math is a brilliant producer and all of the tracks on this release are well performed."

"All of the tracks on this joint are ill. I've spun it twice, and trust me; each cut is witty, unpredictable talent and natural game.

Mathematics is amazing. (He needs to produce more.) True, most of these tracks are available on other albums, but this compilation is really cool.

Check out "Rush" with Meth and GZA. These boys know what they're doing.

Here's the bottom line: this album features great artists and great production.

Wu-Tang forever

Peace

Great CD from an all-time legendary hip hop group!

"This is a great cd for a group who hasn't come out with a cd in some time. It's a mix of new songs with some selections from previous solo members cds. Plus it was a great tune up before the Meth/Ghost/Rae collaboration cd - "WU MASSACRE" was released. Coming off the heels of Method Man & Redmans latest cd, Raekowns classic follow up to the 1995 classic, "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx", with "Only Built For Cuban Linx Part 2", as well as Method Mans solo cd - "Crystal Meth" still to come, WU TANG CLAN will follow up with a full length cd as well. It's just excellent how this group keeps providing content for its fans, from solo cds, to group collaborations, you can never get bored with anything representing a WU TANG logo on it. This cd provides brand new content, that will keep east coast hip hop fans heads nodding until the group returns with a WU TANG CLAN CD. Also with Inspectah Deck, dropping a solo cd a few weeks ago, and Masta Killa releasing a live concert cd last week entitled - "Live", WU TANG CLAN keeps pumping material. A must have for WU TANG fans!!!"
