CD Reviews

Not all extended versions

"I bought this CD because the other compilations in this series (by Rebound Records) do include a lot of 12" versions. This one mostly contains ablum versions, though. Here's the correct track list and track lengths:

1) Relax (album version) 3:57

2) Venus (a bad re-edit of the album version with some measures repeated) 4:26

3) Something About You (Pettibone Extended Remix) 5:48

4) She Blinded Me With Science (Edit - this isn't even the full album version) 3:43

5) Shoud (album version edit - shortened by 30 seconds) 5:59

6) Let Me Go (album version?) 4:17

7) Vacation (album version) 3:01

8) The Look Of Love (1990 Remix - from the Absolutely greatest hits album) 4:39

9) Obsession (Dance Mix edit - shortended by 30 seconds) 5:37

10) The Politics of Dancing (extended version?) 6:35

11) Tainted Love (1991 Extended Remix - from the Memorabilia greatest hits album) 5:54

12) Come On Eileen (edit without the violin intro) 4:00"

"The great thing about this c.d. 80's pop-new-wave hits package is that none of the groups were dismal one hit wonders (with the exception of maybe one or two artists)! Also, why bother chasing for the original hard to find, maybe obsolete and out of print albums, for the actual top hit; the rest may be filler or junk !The only error of omission is not including the full length version of Soft Cell's Tainted Love w/ Where Did Our Love Go... The sequencing or order of tracks is up to par. There is nothing slow or unfamiliar with regards to song title or artist. This is the perfect c.d for retro parties. The length of entire c.d. does not drag on as well. Highly recommended---and don't judge the c.d by the simple generic cover art graphics..."
Not that great...

"This CD contains "extended club versions" of the many of the tracks, including Tainted Love and a few others. While this can be ideal for dancing, which is the purpose of this series, it doesn't allow the track to flow as well as it's Single version, which is what most complilations consist of. Don't pay too much for this disc. There are much better compilations out there."
