Synopsis

Album Description

Young Salzburg violinist Thomas Albertus Imberger and legendary Viennese pianist Jörg Demus, who celebrated his 80th birthday in December 2008, have recorded works for violin and piano by Robert Schumann. Heard here are the "Fantasy Pieces" Op. 73 (which also exist in a version for cello and piano), the famous Sonata in A minor Op. 105, the second Sonata in D minor Op. 121 (which due to its technical difficulties is rarely performed), and two movements from the "FAE" Sonata composed by Schumann, Brahms, and Albert Dietrich.
