Synopsis
Amazon.com It's no surprise that Wool is obsessed with speed. The quartet was formed by guitarist-vocalists Peter and Franz Stahl, formerly of Washington, D.C.'s hardcore punk standouts, Scream. Wool's first full album, Box Set, has some missteps, including a cover of Greg Allman's maudlin tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr., "God Rest His Soul." But when the band concentrates on what it does beststripped down, hooky garage rockit's hard not to be swept up in the excitement. --Jim DeRogatis Similar CDs

http://digmeoutpodcast.blogspot.com/2011/01/episode-1-is-live-we-review-box-set-by.html CD ReviewsAnother gem lost in the shuffle... D. Galante | watchcity, Ma | 01/13/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "Pete Stahl is the man...with pipes that could soothe the hounds at the gates of Hell, he leads this band through a set of rockin tunes packed with atmosphere that give each song a life of it's own. I love this album so much, I'd listen to it right now-if I could find it. For reference, imagine if Foo Fighters were really really good, rather than passable. Now imagine if Dave Grohl had an amazing voice. He himself was often photographed wearing a Wool t-shirt...makes sense, since he and Pete were bandmates back in the day in Scream...the guitarist of Wool even joined Foo Fighters for 5 minutes. Well worth the hefty 32 cent asking price...what the heck, throw in an extra penny and get the Budspawn e.p. as well. What a crime. I can't imagine living a life devoid of this album. I pity the millions..." A long awaited breather! joefox2 | louisiana | 08/27/2000 (4 out of 5 stars) "this album is just what the music industry needs. It breaks free of the traditional punk and doesn't dwell on anger. It is a classic in the making."
