Synopsis

Product Description
Winter's Fall is a Bay Area indie rock band that mixes folk and country influences with indie-pop sensibilities and explores the subtle integration of vintage electronics. Formed in late 2006 when songwriter Peter Stanley reunited with childhood friend Keith Gidlund, Winter's Fall completed its lineup with Pete Gidlund and Hans Ashlock and shortly thereafter began playing shows and recording its first release, the lo-fi "Muddy & White EP". This period of the band saw Peter Stanley acting as chief songwriter and band leader while the other three members acted as mad scientist-style multi-instrumentalists; constantly switching instruments and roles.
In 2008, the band began recording a focused body of work that would become its "Self-Titled" full-length debut. Recorded at the famous Grizzly Studios in Petaluma, California, the band took the approach of tracking the songs live and using minimal overdubs. Rather than switching instruments, the band settled into a traditional four-piece combo. This approach created an intimate and honest soundspace that is evident at first listen. Stanley remains the band's mastermind, but rather than being backed by a loose lo-fi experimental collective, Winter's Fall has matured into a tight, road-tested band with intense, lush performances on stage, a steady following, and two successful, well-reviewed records under its belt.
Summer of 2008 saw Winter's Fall release its debut "Self-Titled" full-length and tour the west coast to support it.
