"Wild Bill Davis... the Godfather of the Hammond Organ. When it came to drive and ability to cook, Jimmy Smith had nothing on him, and this CD is the proof. A later session, recorded 1976 in Paris France, Wild Bill rips, all stops out, with Billy Butler and Oliver Jackson - - the basslines groove and the chords are flying left and right. This is a heavy cooking session, not a "reunion" or "foreign indie label deal". Its Jazz organ music at its best ! - - As late as the mid '90s (prior to his death), Wild Bill was still tearing it up and very little had diminished from his style... here we have a chance to hear the godfather under great recording circumstances and with a juiced up ensemble.
