CD Reviews

This "is a lemon and I want my money back..."

"The track-listing looks amazing (the only song noticeably missing is their cover of "Radar Love"). The band certainly was amazing. I read on several sites that the versions contained herein were orig. album cuts. Not so. What you will get are the ORIGINAL demo recordings. In the liner notes Mike even professes the songs were reworked/retouched/polished, etc. before making the final grade for the record. This is obviously the case as most of these demos SUCK in comparison to the album versions. I love White Lion and I love Mike Tramp's solo work; I feel ripped off. "Little Fighter" is probably the worst track. The lead vocals are terrible. "Wait," one of my fav. songs of this era has a fairly muddy mix and just really fails to compare to the Pride version. "You're All I Need" sounds like a generic ballad from a generic band that wouldn't have made it anywhere. I'm a huge fan of the final cut. And "Til Death Do Us Part" is unlistenable. I loved that song. One of my friends used it as his wedding song. This bland synth version has none of the same appeal; no tugging at the heart strings. Now, for the positive... "Tell Me" sounds great. A few of the less popular tracks are decent but for the most part this just sounds like a cheesy live recording from someone's garage. Shame on everyone involved for releasing this without a label that says "DEMOS." Diehards that want to hear "where it all started," pick this up. Anyone who wants a comprehensive collection of the versions of the songs we all love, WAIT. This isn't it."

"This is a White Lion album with original demo versions of the classics, but also has new tracks never before heard on previous studio albums and along with the album 'Remembering White Lion' which is new versions of the classic songs, are the first albums since 'Mane Attraction' that offer something new and a little different.

Looking forward to a new album with lead singer Mike tramp continuing White lion with new band members, he has reffered to it as White lion 2."
Very good

"I can't disagree more with Adam Stewart's review. I really like this CD! It's nice to hear slightly different versions of your favorite White Lion songs and to hear how they evolved. I actually like these versions better on many of the tracks. The recording quality is also very good considering most of the tracks are demos. If you are a White Lion fan, it's a must have."
