"Wayne Toups is spectacular in the New Blues Sessions and listeners are in awe as traditional Cajun, Southern Rock, Blues, Country and Zydeco styles are sprinkled throughout every cut of this album. Absolutely amazing, electric, pulsating, and energizing! An absolutely fantastic addition to any southern roots music collection."

"I loved this album.I am from Kansas, and I had never heard this kind of music before. And then a group of cajuns rolled into town with big hearts and Wayne toups tapes . One of them was Waynes brothers ex-wife by coincidence. I became friends with her, and went to Louisiana to visit. I have heard alot of wonderful music since then, but every since Donnie Toups played "Take my hand" on his stereo I have never heard a song with more emotion. I think the songs on this album are beautiful. As well as Waynes voice.I have heard all of his tapes and this one is the best of all. So thank you all. Linda, Laris, Marty, Bubba, Armond, Slim, Shirley, Donnie, and Henry,for showing me that there is a place where the music is part of a lifestyle. And showing me a Kansan can dance, with a cajun to show her, and Wayne to dance to. I fell in love with his music, and his state. And when i dream, I dream of listening to "Take my hand" on the porch in Holly Beach, LA. with good friends, A beer, and all the dancing you can do in one night. Because life is about the good things, and i never knew how simple they could be."
