CD Reviews

3.5 actually.... But read on

"This CD is very very good. Old school sounding Warrior Soul with crystal clear production. Kory Clarke's raspy vocals make it sound even edgier and definitely more punk.

The tracks Pigs, Fourth Reich, Burning Bridges, Motor City, Bad News and Shes Glaswegian all sound as if they could have come straight after the 'Salutations' CD or Space Age Playboys. I love these song and could put my Warrior Soul files on my media player to 'Shuffle' and you would never know they didn't fit in the bands catalog. That is how good it really is. They sound great and revamped. The energy is there. So if you like the 'Soul, pick it up. No brainer. The quality and sound are excellent and it rocks hard.

My negatives are that with this being said, we are only talking 6 tracks. There is another track 'Don't Believe' which is mid tempo and would have been OK, but it drags and Kory's new vocal sound doesn't fit the melody lines required for such a song. Its not totally horrible, but does seem a bit out of whack with the disc.

Also, there is a cover song 'Knocking 'em Down' which would be alright, but listen, I find it a tough pill to swallow that I waited so many years for a new disc and am treated to a 8 song collection with 1 of those songs being average and another being a cover. I even bought the mediocre 'Dirty Rig' disc in the interim wanting to hear Kory Clarke's vox again. If it were a 12 track disc, it would be 5 stars.

I don't ordinarily do this, but if you aren't a metal collector or huge WS fan, it would almost be SMARTER and cheaper to just download the 6 tracks listed. I know not many will read this anyway, but this Disc could have been better, but I wont say I am disappointed in most of its content, just its quantity.

Hope to hear more soon......

Destroy everything - Warrior Soul Are Definitely Back

"Song Titles are: [...] The Pigs, The Fourth Reich, Motor City, Don't Believe, Burning Bridges, Bad News (Rock N Roll Boyfriend), She's Glaswegian, Knocking 'Em Down(In The City). Man I love Kory Clarke's attitude. More heavy duty metal, screw the government lyrics. You need this cd. Style of Space Age Playboys meets Salutations from the Ghetto Nation. Every Warrior Soul album rules."
Great New Warrior Soul

"This is the rare "reunion" album that lives up to the old stuff. Rocks from beginning to end (except Don't Beleive which seems like filler.) As a Warrior soul fan from the beginning, I'm glad to hear Kory hasn't lost his voice or his attitude. Only critism would be The Fourth Reich lyrics. I hate the government as much as the next guy, but the whole 911 truth thing is retarted. Would have been a top ten WS song without lyrics like "The Neo-Cons brought the towers down." The song goes from legitimate rage against the war to ridiculous paranoia. That said, just try getting "She's Glaswegain" out of your head. This album is great."
