Typed it in on Amazon, and saw that, hey, there is a band called Warbeast, and they just released their first album a few weeks. Figured it was fate and that I should probably get it. Glad I did, because it is awesome! The vocals aren't typical thrash vocals, but that's ok. While I generally prefer the higher vox, Warbeast's deep, but clean vocal style is a welcome change. The music is heavy and thrashy, but not retro thrashy. The 80's influence is definitely there, but with a modern sensibility.
Pantera Phil produces, but that wasn't a specific selling point for me--though it doesn't hurt. If you dig metal, I say, buy it." |
