Batucada has a very interesting combination of Bossa Nova tunes as well as some that at the time, started to be categorized as Bossa Jazz; many of them with different tempos, but all of them with the same and distinctive claim-to-fame organ seal of master Wanderley. Cuts like O Barquinho, Wave and Jequibau are Bossa Nova classics, that pretty much can only be found here. Cuts like Batucada and Os Grilos (both written by Marcos Valle) are the perfect example of rhythmic Bossa Jazz that Walter Wanderley became famous for.
