Walter's Greatest Album...
James Miller | Columbus, Ohio United States | 07/09/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"CHEGANCA is without a doubt one of the great jazz albums of all time. Walter and his gang let loose with wild rhythms, intoxicating sounds and haunting melodies. In a sour mood? Just listen to "Amanha". You'll be up on your toes dancing to this marvelous little tune. Walter's arrangements of "Mar Amar", "Take Care, My Heart", "A Man And A Woman" are pure enjoyment and a tribute to this man's musical genius. The remastered CD is a must for any true jazz lover!"

"This is one of Walter Wanderley's best releases.(along with Rain Forest). The music sounds like sad and emotional muzak or elevator music with organ(or sometimes piano)as the lead instrument.Songs # 2,8 and 9(and others)are perhaps my favorite tracks on this cd,which include amazing melodies that sound quite sad and emotional.Track 8,titled "Voce e Eu",which is "You and I" in english,is my very favorite song.Just fantastic and sounding quite ahead of its time considering it was 1967(or 1966).This is a cd that i'll keep on playing."
