Synopsis

Product Description
The Walking sticks is a 2 man experimental hiphop band from San Antonio, Texas that formed in November of 2005. Members include world renowned vocalist 'Notes'(Scott Walsh featured on mtv2, melodic records, manna records) and producer 'mnolo'(Manuel Antonio Escobar).

Their debut album, 'Lalaland' was produced, recorded & mixed @ 'step edit ', mnolo's downtown San Antonio studio.

Notes has been a staple of the texas hiphop seen for over 10 years with string of releases as Notes as well as under different monikers. Mnolo has been producing electronic music & underground hiphop for ~7 years collaborating with many texas producers, mc's & musicians. Notes and mnolo met in 2004 and began collaborating on various project, most notabley Big Sound & Not a Word.

One day they decided to put their heads together on a dedicated release and chose the name walking sticks to characterize not only the light and positive nature of the project but also to describe the genre they were to create, 'traveling music' , music to aide you on your journey through life, in both this physical reality as well as the spiritual (and don't forget psychedelic happy land). Some of Walking Sticks influences include dj vadim , de la soul, ninja tune, amon tobin, coldcut, prince paul, wu-tang, bob marley, james brown, big daddy kane, kmd, leaders of the new school.

Walking sticks can be found performing in venues throughout Texas, and their first LP 'Lalaland' will be available summer 2006.
