Synopsis

Amazon.com
As they've demonstrated since the time of their first release (1995's To the Last Dead Cowboy), the Waco Brothers have a dual reason for their existence. One is to give voice to the angers, fears and hopes they feel as they bear witness to the world around them, and the other is to rock with unshakable commitment. Combining the compellingly vivid vocals of the Clash with similarly outraged diatribes, they couch them in human scaled scenarios, not unlike the approach Steve Earle has taken. This is a band John Fogerty could be proud of, as they take on the abuse of privilege, the arrogance of power, and the dizzy travails of those on the lower rungs of the social ladder. --David Greenberger

CD Reviews

Insurgent music, dig it while we still have the 1st amendme
ShakeyToo | Morgantown, WV | 08/20/2006

"Amazon sez if you like Okemah, you'll like this, true that and kudos to Jay, but the bros peer even more deeply into W's rotting soul, listen to LincolnTownCar, "Are your angry, squinting eyes looking at me?" It can't be said any better. Alright, have at me you sheep, but y'all who get it, get it. Buy this music before it's banned."
Excellent stuff! There isn't a weak track on here

"This is the best CD from these guys since 'Cowboy in Flames' and I can't believe these guys aren't more popular. Oh, right, they're a bit 'too' harsh for some sensitive folk. Whatever.

Its great music thats both danceable and excellent for drinking your shot and a beer too.

For those who think Country music is best made OUTSIDE of nashville."

"If you can imagine, recast in your mind, the Clash, as a country-punk outfit, you'd have the Waco Brothers...These guys rock out like nobody's business and their hearts are very definitely in the right place, politically speaking...At the top of my favorites so far would be "Come a Long Long Way" and "Cheatin', Sex and Death" (if that doesn't sum up country music, I don't know what does)."
