"So, I saw Voyager One open for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club in South Florida. The venue produces a muddy echoey distribution of sound that is not fair to any audience listener that does not know the tunes. In any case, I concentrated to overcome that irritation, being that the band name was derived from The Verve. They were excellent and usually I would say the performance was better than the album, but fairly, I will say Dissolver came through on all the little things I could not follow at the club.
Dissolver sounds like a lot of things. Right off the bat, Dreampop and Shoegaze, bashed with just the right amount of Her Space Holiday with groove-based guitar parallels to BJM. I dig it. And the more I've played this, the more I've enjoyed it. You know when you like the track so much, you pick up the cd case to look at the selections closer? I've done that at least 10 times. The Good You Do Not Do, Satellite Eye and Endless Repeat...all favorites and ironically are all in a row...but the whole thing is a five star - exactly what I enjoy."

"Voyager One is one of those bands who hasn't obtained nearly the recognition and popularity that they deserve. While falling under the "shoegazer" genre, I think that they most closely resemble The Verve's album "A Storm in Heaven." This Seattle based band, always sounding like they have roots in Britain, never sounded more British than on "Dissolver," their third album (and last as of this review). Dissolver's a rather short album, which is the reason that I haven't given it more stars, but solid throughout. It's not as good as the band's flagship "Monster Zero," but it's comparable in quality to "From the New Nation of Long Shadows," V1's debut.
For me, the best two songs on the album are clearly "Salvation" and "The People's Candidate," which rock a little harder than the other tracks. "Life, Truth, and Light," while borderline pretentious, is certainly interesting. "Sinner/Saint," kind of reminds me of the Fleetwood Mac song "Sara." It's impossible to listen to "Satellite Eye," and not be reminded of early Verve and The Charlatans.
A good albeit somewhat abbreviated effort. I look forward to the future offerings of Voyager One, and to seeing them in concert when they come to the NYC area. My sincere hope is that more fans of this type of music get exposed to this fine band."
