Aerial Age is the second release from prolific Chicago-based drummer/composer Tim Daisy's two year-old working trio, Vox Arcana. The group is Daisy s primary outlet for his own eclectic compositions, which juxtapose the structure of contemporary chamber music with the highly attuned, open-ended improvisation that distinguishes Chicago s storied jazz scene. Helping him bring this music to life are two other mainstays of that scene, cellist Fred Lonberg-Holm and clarinetist James Falzone, who also collaborate with Daisy in such other prominent ensembles as KLANG and the Vandermark 5.
