"Voafose is Jeremy Simmonds. If you're looking at this item on Amazon, you likely already know this. His only other notable achievement in music is already over 10 years old--a record named "Weirs", which was released on the same Rephlex label under the the artist name Vibert/Simmonds. On that record, Voafose provided the sonic backdrop for Luke Vibert's futuristic drum sequences. Many of those were mystifying walls of oscillations upon oscillations. Eerie.
On *this* record, Voafose is alone. He experiments most notably with public broadcast samples and some atmospheric sound oscillations. Some of the tracks are a bit humorous because of the content (one is a modulated sample of an interview with a hair-stylist, in which a garden is the topic of conversation). *Most* of the album is simply ear-bending abstration, wanderings into space on singularities manifested by sounds.
This is a record that will most prominently appeal to fans of electronic music, though anyone with an ear for the uncommon or experimental would do well to pick up this CD. My guess is that it will not remain in print for very long."
