Struble | Philadelphia, PA | 02/13/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "These spirited performances are from 1954 and are monaural, with some pseudo-stereo in the "Four Seasons"; they are not period instrument performances. Scherchen was an excellent, if occasionally eccentric, conductor who somewhat dominates the proceedings, sometimes overwhelming violinist Olevsky, although he is often quite expressive, given the chance. The harpsichord is often prominent. A nice set, but not really competitive with more recent and historically informed performances."
