Outstanding - Classic songs masterfully interpreted

"This is a revolutionary album in Vinx's career. He's gone back in time to put his marvellous spin on some old standards of the Great American Songbook.Vinx has put the rhythm and the soul back into some well worn tunes. The arrangements focus primarily on his beautiful voice and expressive percussion, but the melodies are firmly intact as well.If you (like I was) are worried that you'll never hear "Georgia On My Mind" without thinking of Ray Charles, don't. Vinx makes it his own. The same goes for all the of the tracks on the CD. He even takes two songs that I don't really like ("Mellow Yellow" and "You Are My Sunshine") and makes them sing.If you've never heard Vinx, this is a great place to start (even if it is not a typical Vinx record). If you haven't checked him out in a while, do so. This record has the same wonderful impact as the first time you heard "Rooms In My Fatha's House".Here's the tracklist from vinx.com:1. "Vinx does a nice job of interpreting a number of standards. This is a very mellow disc for Vinx, with pretty understated instrumentation; but his voice sounds great and this makes for very good nighttime listening."
