This new quartet session, Take Your Time, is the third recording for this group of long-time collaborators. It features Golia on soprano, alto and tenor saxophones, Bobby Bradford on cornet, Ken Filiano on bass and Alex Cline on drums.



Cline was the drummer on Golia's first session 34-years ago. Filiano has been a mainstay with the Large Ensemble since '86. Each appears on numerous Nine Winds sessions as leaders or sidemen. When asked why the CD title was not the name of one of the 10 new tunes he wrote for the date, Golia indicated Take Your Time was a tip of his hat to Bradford.



"Taking your time is the one thing you learn from Bob. He is such a master improviser: very unhurried and with ideas that are consistently thoughtful. He takes things to a new level every time he plays, and he always plays with such great clarity. His legacy is huge. He's the missing link between bop and freer music."
