"At last, in 1961, France discovered R'n R and Vince Taylor took the country by storm. With his Play-Boys, he was coming from England where Cliff Richard was the strong number one. The idea of Eddie Barclay ( Barclay records) was to fight the french idol, Johnny Hallyday. Without success, because french teens wanted french singing rockers, and the violence of Vince's shows frightened parents and medias . In Paris, the Palais des Sports was distroyed by fans during a concert, and for Vince it was the beginning of the fall. A Meteoric career.But on stage,Vince Taylor was the greatest i ever saw, and i saw a lot ,from Chuck Berry to Rammstein. According to a legend, Vince was the model of Bowie's Ziggy Stardust. Vince was not Elvis, he had not a great voice, but sometimes...Listen "Twenty Flight Rock", and the fabulous drumming of Bobby Clarke, or "Shaking all Over"...This is Rock'n'roll!
