CD ReviewsAtrium Musicae 12/20/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "Villancicos were popular medieval songs in Spain. This along with their "Arab-Andalusian Music" album, are my two favorite Atrium Musicae albums. The sound is amazingly rich, using a wide variety of unusual period instruments. The melodies are very accessible and enjoyable even for non-classical listeners. A.M. can also be very weird--their "Music of Ancient Greece" incorporates aleatory passages where the ancient manuscripts have gaps--but Villancicos is rhythmic and lovely."
