"I am a fan to the degree that I can't imagine giving any release by the VAO less than 5 stars. (Okay, maybe 4 stars for The Minimalism of Erik Satie) I first heard the VAO on public radio while driving. I had to pull over immediately to call the station and find out who these guys were. I have never been disappointed with anything they have released. Comparisons are odious, but you might say that Ruegg and the VAO are to jazz as Frank Zappa is to rock."
