"Michele Gasbarro directs Festina Lente in a world-premiere recording of Missa Ave Regina for 8 voices by Tomas Luis de Victoria (c1548-1611)."This work, one of Victoria's late masterpieces, is nicely set off by chants and organ pieces that would have been heard during a Mass. The composer's eight-voice motet that furnished the cantus firmus is heard before the Mass. The singers are well trained and integrated, and the vocal production is warm. The organ used for the alternatim Kyrie (and elsewhere) is brilliant. This disc is a winner, recommended." (J.F. Weber, Fanfare)"
