A unique instrumental combination of smooth jazz, new age, and progressive rock, with nods to classical and celtic just for fun. This album features guitar on most songs, backed by an arsenal of drums and percussion, keyboards, bass, and rhythm guitar. Well thought out song forms and a variety of tempos and feels make for an interesting album throughout. Not just looped grooves under a 4 minute solo, the drum parts were carefully crafted to create a unique feel for each song. Likewise, the guitar parts were conceived with an emphasis on originality, feel and taste, and not on flash (although some may have leaked in anyway!). Need a more concrete reference - think of Eric Johnson's instrumentals with a more orchestrated rhythm section. Great for driving, studying, relaxing, or as background music.
