"Vesperian Sorrow plays newer black metal. The style with keyboards and a more polished sound than say Burzum style BM. Just wanted to say that so you know what you're getting into. I can't believe not many people know about this band. This CD has a few flaw tracks that don't match up to the powerfulness of others but the half that are good are brilliant. The double bass beats are dead on, keyboards don't sound cheesy, the vocals are raw, and the guitar work even has some solos without getting too carried away. Altogether, each instrument works perfectly with each other for an epic journey beginning and ending with ambient tracks. This album is what Dimmu Borgir and other bands of the like are trying but failing to sound like. If you wanna hear how great it sounds, buy the Blackend Metal Compilation 5. The track Twilight of Azreal is on it...if you don't like it, at least you have a little variety of BM bands to listen to...there's gotta be something on there to like."
