"Horrifyingly bad! Stay away from this CD! On the CD, it says original artists and original recordings, but it was so far from the truth. My mother, who was a young lady from this era, was severely disappointed by this drivel. The liner notes provide no original release or copyright dates on the songs, only the 2006 release date of this crap. The recordings are new, none are original; I don't know about the artists. What a rip off! Pay very close attention and read carefully before buying any CD, and look out for useful comments that will prevent this problem."

"How ridiculous! The Ventures absolutely positively without a doubt ROCK! The fact that they covered a lot of others' hits is already understood unless you've spent all your time reading children's books. They always add a fresh instrumental spin on great songs that are way worthy of more than a mere listen. These licks are essential! The Ventures were the most popular rock instrumental combo, and scored several hit singles during the 1960s -- most notably "Walk-Don't Run" (which they re-released in late 1963 in their Walk Don't Run Vol.2 album...this time Walk Don't Run '64 made it to the #8 position on the charts) and "Hawaii Five-O" -- They made it big in the growing album market, covering hits of the day and organizing thematically linked LPs. Almost 40 Ventures albums charted, and 17 hit the Top 40. The Venture's popularity in America virtually disappeared by the 1970s, and yet their enormous contribution to pop culture was far from over; the Ventures soon became one of the most popular world-wide groups, with dozens of albums recorded especially for the Japanese and European markets. They toured continually throughout the 1970s and '80s -- influencing Japanese pop music of the time more than they had American music during the '60s."

"I saw a video on youtube of the ventures doing their rendition of "Wipeout". I was so impressed that I looked up this cd and bought it that very night. I must say that I wasn't disappointed. Very nice collection. If you are a fan of the Ventures... I recommend this one for your collection."
