CD Reviews

An excellent collection, but not all that necessary anymore

"When this rarities collection was released in 1996, it was a perfect edition to any Venom fans collection as it contained previosly unreleased songs, demons, and remixes. However most of the material present on this release has been re-released as bonus tracks on the remastered editions of Welcome to Hell, Black Metal, At War With Satan, and Possessed and even the compilation In League with Satan. There are still a few songs however that were not re-released that still makes this package a must for the die hard fan. The two songs that are still only available on this release are Dead on Arrival and Sadist (Mistress of the Whip). Another song that is only available on this release is At War with Satan (Full Re-Edited Version). I really dug this version as it took the breathtakingly creepy speech that was found towards the end of the song and put it at the front of the song instead, much like the At War with Satan preview track on Black Metal. If your a die hard and must have these three tracks, also check out the Venom tribute album as it also has a rare Venom track called Holy Man.
