Synopsis

Album Description
These Richmond, VA synth-punk insurgents play what they call "adventure funcore". They use multiple synthesizers and no guitars, but they're more of a conventional rock band than an electronic band. They just happen to play keyboards and get a different sound from most other groups.

CD Reviews

Open your mind to something new

"VCR has opened my eyes and mind to something awesome. This punkcore-electro-pop or whatever you want to call it is simply awesome. The music blurs the lines which separate genres. Every song on this CD is solid gold and it is well worth the less than $7 you'll be paying for it. I can't wait to get their other album. The music is fun, powerful and makes you want to move! Especially Bratcore, which is availible for free download through Amazon."
No track 7 but...

"The track that is listed as seventh ,"Destroy", is actually a part of track 6 ,"Really Something". If you read the lyrics along with the song you'll see/hear. It was a screw up with the cd pressing. The 2 songs are played together always though.

Fun, at last!

"What's funny is that I was just talking to some friends today about how music just doesn't seem fun, anymore, and that the artists of the past 15-20 years mostly seem to be copies of one another.

I love these guys, because I can't say any of that about them. The first time I heard this made me smile. Even though synths normally sound terrible to me (like when they're trying to sound like something else), this made them seem new and shiny again. I listen to them when I need a reminder that music isn't all the same and/or that I've already heard, bought, and played to death every style of music (or close to) that I could possibly ever like.

Listen to the album cuts, and download Bratcore: this is exactly what you're getting.

Get this if you have a taste for quirky music, things, or people. Or if you like old style punk and don't hate synths... or you like 8-16 bit video games. Or have ever loved Mystery Science Theater 3000. Or if you're an 80's kid and watched those cheesy movies. Or like music that just sounds fun and energetic. I liked this for all of the above reasons, and some others, too."
