"How is this record not hailed widely as one of the most brilliant releases in years? It is unrelentingly brutal, beautiful and interesting. From the opening seconds it just leaps off into the abyss without restraint. It's like watching a slam dunk competition, where you find yourself going, "Oof! Oh no! They did not just do that! Mmph!" Hook after hook, pummeling beat after pummeling beat, you will marvel at how two people can make such a racket. I was a huge Hammerhead fan, but this manages to condense all that was good about them and focus it all into a new, improved package (cutting the lineup to two must have really challenged them to try new ways of acheiving the sound they want). Any time someone tries to show me some "impressive, heavy new band", I say "Oh yeah, huh...Can they do this?..." Without fail, they all go, "OOH, um, no. Damn these guys are good." Check 'em out live too if you can."
