CD ReviewsA Christmas Delight LME | Central CA, USA | 12/14/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "A hundred years ago, maybe only 28-30, I had a vinyl disc recording of the Longines Symphonette (Society). It contained a large variety of Christmas music, larger than any of the current CD offerings. My absolute favorite was the "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers". I don't think there is a better holiday rendition of that number anywhere.
My vinyl was eventually transferred onto cassette and I have held onto it all these years. Now my children love the tune also and it truly is not the holiday season unless we have access to it. I am so pleased to be getting it one CD so we can go straight to the Wooden Soldiers and listen to it as many times as we like." |
