Synopsis

Album Description
Welcome to Hawaii. Come along on a 3-dimensional journey through one of nature's greatest spectacles. Experience the stillness of a gentl sunrise...the whispering palm trees beside the trail...the quiet sernity of a pristine rain forst...the hypnotic rhythm of the sea...and the grandeur as the sun sets over the NaPali coast. We've spent hundreds of hours exploring and recording throughout Hawaii's National Parks and wildlife sanctuaries in order to capture the natural soundscapes that is unique to these amazing islands. By weaving these, and many other natural sounds together with music inspired by our journey, we have created a "Symphony with Nature."

CD Reviews

Peaceful Hawaii

"This is not a dance album, this is a mood music, atmosphere sort of album. Traditional music, natural sounds and guitar music all blend into a very nice, relaxing whole. If life is getting too irritating, this will make it a little better. It really gives a sort of Kauai feeling, more than a Honolulu feeling. Pastoral, natural, relaxed, not exciting and hectic. Whale song, birds, waves, rain, or maybe waterfalls, all contribute to the feel of the actual islands, and the back country, at that."

"My wife and I were married on the Hawaiian island of Kauai in 1997 and it really was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Whilst waiting for our return flight I was browsing the music stand in Honolulu airport and came across this CD. I bought it but had to wait until we returned home before I could play it. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from something picked up from a music stand in the airport but this blew us both away. This was EXACTLY what we wanted. It was the true blend of gentle Hawaiian music that is popular on Kauai. This is a fantastic CD to relax to and it always brings the memories flooding back for us both. You don't have to of visited the Hawaiian islands to appreciate this though. I really can't recommend this CD highly enough - its just a shame that Amazon dont have any track snippets available for this cd ."
Total audio natural experience in 3D

"This review is for all Orange Tree Productions CDs, recorded for the National Park Series. The music is incredible; recorded using a special binaural microphone that captures the sounds of nature in 3D. The effect is the most amazing music I've heard. These CDs record the sounds of nature including not just standard bird songs but also sounds of whistling wind on a desert plateau, misting rain in the forest, distant thunder on the horizon, a tricking creek in the woods, massive rivers plowing thru the valley, a crackling campfire and popping wood, horses and mules plodding along, waves pounding the seashore, seagulls flying overhead, and other sounds. These sounds are then mixed with beautiful melodies w/ flute, piano, and other instruments to create the most incredible mood music I have ever heard. You will actually feel like you are there experiencing nature. Each CD produced by Orange Tree is impeccable, a jewel in itself. I cannot recommend enough that listeners looking for total relaxation get these CDs. Orange Tree produces quite an impressive list of CDs, each based on sounds and music from a certain geographical area or national park. My first exposure to Orange Tree was in a bed & breakfast in Colorado. I bought Sounds of the Rocky Mountains and have since collected over 10 CDs, each for a different National Park. It is well worth the money if you are looking for a total audio natural experience in 3D."
