CD Reviews

EXCELLENT STORM RECORDING
JOE BLOW | MINNEAPOLIS, MN | 06/14/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Oreade Music puts out the best Nature Sounds CDs. They are superior to the other companies. They have High Quality recordings. They put out CDs in the DDD code. On some CDs or on the rear of the jewel case a 3 digit code is put on them. The 3 codes that are put on the CDs are, AAD- which means Analogue tape recorder used during session recording and subsequent mixing and/or editing; Digital tape recorder used during mastering(transcription), ADD -Analogue tape recorder used during session recording; Digital tape recorder used during subsequent mixing and/or editing and during mastering(transcription), or DDD - Digital tape recorder used during session recording, mixing and/or editing, and mastering(transcription). This CD only has Nature Sounds on it, none of that New Age music crap is mixed in. It's 100% pure Natural Sounds. This CD starts out with the Thunderstorm track which starts from the beginning of a thunderstorm all the way to the end. If you hate birds they only appear in the first 5 minutes of this recording very softly until they are drowned out by the storm. The birds are not heard on the other two tracks. The second track, Dynamic Thunder has a lot of thunder and rain in it. The third track, Stormy Winds has a good recording of fast winds, you can hear the winds whistle. This CD is good for white noise to help with insomnia."
This is what I was looking for

"One of the most awesome sounds in the worlds is that of an approaching thunder storm, culminating with the slow sprawling crack of thunder rolling across the top of the clouds from horizon to horizon. Its an event not to be dismissed. "Storm" had captured the elements with purity, dynamics, and depth. I also purchased a less expensive CD of the same subject matter, and "Storm" has it beat on every level. Fork over the extra cost, this time you will get what you pay for."
Energizing and Relaxing
ManOfPrecision | Lowers Bucks County, Pennsylvania | 05/26/2004
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Thunderstorms are some the noisiest and most beautiful phenomenon of nature. On a quiet day after work or school, it is just right to turn on the sounds of a thunderstorm; not just to relax but to become energized. For some people, it may seem noisy and it would keep one alert, but the majority of this CD helps in relaxing and refreshing our minds."
